BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product in its popular assembly model Shokugan series, 『SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT』, featuring 「Goldsodran」 from the classic robot anime "The Brave Goldran," slated for release in February 2026.
Appearing in episode 37 of the anime, Goldsodran is an imposter Brave robot created by King Sodra of Planet Sodra, based on "Sky Goldran." While its Haniwa-like appearance is quite comical, its performance is 22% higher than the original. In addition to Sky Goldran, King Sodra also created imposters of other Brave robots like Adventure God and Leon Kaiser, leading to humorous scenes where they usurped the main characters' roles and even sang the anime's opening theme song themselves.
「SMP Goldsodran」 is a modification of the previously released original "Sky Goldran," utilizing new parts to recreate its Haniwa-style facial features, the chest area without the Power Stone, and the playful "22% gesture" hand sculpt. The entire model's molded color has also been changed to a sandy earth-gray, perfectly replicating its appearance from the show.
The imposter Goldran Dragon, and the model-original "Goldsodran Color Goldran," also feature the same transformation mechanism as "Goldran," allowing for detailed recreation of classic transformation scenes from the show. Accessories include two types of head and hand sculpts – "emphasis on sculpt" and "transformation/combination" – as well as replacement backpack parts that prioritize sculpt, allowing for assembly according to preference.
