Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectibles division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the 'S.H.MonsterArts' series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, has announced the commercialization of a new product from the film "Godzilla x Megaguirus: The G Annihilation Strategy", the "Megaguirus Evolution Set". The release date is yet to be determined.
Released in 2000, "Godzilla x Megaguirus: The G Annihilation Strategy" depicts Japan being attacked by the giant creature "Godzilla" in Tokyo half a century prior, destroying a nuclear power plant. As a result, Japan abandoned nuclear power and fully committed to developing alternative energy, ultimately developing plasma energy in 1996. However, in the same year, this energy facility was again destroyed by Godzilla, leading to the death of Takuya Miyagawa, who was in charge of the Godzilla interception operation. The protagonist, Kiriko Tsujimori, vowed to avenge him.
Five years later, the Japan Self-Defense Agency developed the ultimate anti-Godzilla weapon, the "Dimension Tide", using plasma energy. However, during a test firing, a spacetime rift was accidentally created, bringing ancient giant insects, "Meganula," to the modern era where they multiplied rapidly and attacked humans. A mutated individual even absorbed Godzilla's energy, growing into the supremely powerful "Super Flying Dragon Megaguirus". Subsequently, Godzilla landed in Odaiba, Tokyo, and began its final battle with Megaguirus...
The "S.H.MonsterArts Megaguirus Evolution Set" will include three articulated figures for collectors: "Meganulon," "Meganula," and "Megaguirus," representing the three stages of evolution leading to Megaguirus. TAMASHII NATIONS has already unveiled the sculpt of the final form, "Megaguirus," which meticulously captures biological details such as its ferocious, tooth-filled head, the intricate patterns on its full-body carapace, and sharp spines. Furthermore, its foreclaws, three pairs of abdominal legs, wings, and each segment of its body feature multi-stage articulated joints that do not compromise the integrity of the sculpt, allowing for dynamic flight combat poses from the film.
