The popular die-cast action figure series 'METAL BUILD', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has unveiled for the first time a prototype of its new product, 'Kamen Rider Zero-One', from the brand-new sub-series 'EX PROJECT', at the ongoing 'TAMASHII NATIONS LIVE ACTION FIGURE EXPO' physical exhibition. Release date is yet to be determined.
The protagonist of the series, Aruto Hiden, is the young president who took over the AI company 'Hiden Intelligence'. He transforms into Kamen Rider Zero-One using the 'Hiden Zero-One Driver' left by the first president, Korenosuke Hiden, and 'Progrise Keys' that contain biological power. With this power, he resolves incidents of rogue 'Humagear' androids caused by the terrorist organization 'MetsubouJinrai.net'. In his basic form, 'Rising Hopper', he possesses exceptional jumping ability and can unleash his Rider Kick finisher, 'Rising Impact'.
Unlike the previous direction of the METAL BUILD series, which exclusively featured robot characters, the new project 'EX PROJECT' will introduce famous characters from Japanese anime and tokusatsu, extending (EXTEND) the richness of the product lineup, and incorporating unique (EXTRAORDINARY) stylistic interpretations into their designs, thereby expanding (EXPANSION) the possibilities for the METAL BUILD series.
The 'METAL BUILD EX PROJECT Kamen Rider Zero-One' prototype currently displayed at the venue largely retains the appearance previewed in July. It continues the original work's style and color scheme, which combines technology and athleticism. Incorporating numerous die-cast movable joint parts, the exterior details feature a wealth of original METAL BUILD designs, such as the deployable chest armor and flying effect parts, enhancing the imagery of his high-tech, AI-powered transformation.
