BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, from Japan, which offers the most diverse range of 1/144 scale Gunpla in the 'HG (High Grade)' series, has announced the commercialization of a new product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX": the "HG 1/144 Expansion Parts Set for Red Gundam". The release date is yet to be determined.
The gMS-α Red Gundam was originally the latest mobile suit, "RX-78-02 White Gundam," developed by the Earth Federation Forces in Universal Century 0079. However, due to the successful snatch operation carried out by the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot, Char Aznable, this unit, along with the Pegasus-class assault landing ship No. 1 "Pegasus," fell into the hands of the Principality of Zeon. After modification, an "α-type psycho-communication system" was added compared to the original unit, allowing the pilot to remotely control 6 drone attack units for all-directional attacks using brainwaves. It ultimately became Char's personal unit, the "Red Gundam."
The "HG 1/144 Expansion Parts Set for Red Gundam" is an armament accessory set that can be used with the separately sold Red Gundam main unit. The product includes four drone attack units, suspension parts for drone units, two types of bazookas, and beam effect parts. When combined with the main unit, it completes the full set of 6 drone attack units to recreate its perfect form, as well as the classic poses from the series: "Last Shot" and "Assassination of Kycilia"!
