The plastic model series launched by Japan's KADOKAWA, 'KADOKAWA PLASTIC MODEL SERIES (KADOPLA for short)', has announced the commercialization of two new 1/48 scale plastic models from the novel series 'Full Metal Panic!': 'Type 11 Kai (ARX-10d) AZUR RAVEN' and 'ARX-7 Arbalest'. The release date is yet to be determined.

The prototype of the 'AZUR RAVEN 1/48 Plastic Model', currently on display, appears in 'Full Metal Panic! Family', the latest sequel depicting 20 years after 'Full Metal Panic!', where Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori have started a family. It is set as one of the AS (Arm Slaves) manufactured by the Sagara family through private channels. It is a hybrid based on the 'Type 11' equipped by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, combined with M9 series parts. Its 'Agile Thruster' provides hovering capabilities equivalent to a helicopter, and ECS (Electromagnetic Camouflage) allows for complete invisibility. Furthermore, it can even activate the 'Lambda Driver' with support from the AI 'AL' located somewhere on Earth, via remote communication. Author Shoji Gatoh stated that this machine might be the strongest among the third-generation types.

The other machine announced for commercialization, the ARX-7 Arbalest, is the third-generation AS piloted by protagonist Sousuke Sagara in his youth. It is a test machine modified from another AS, the 'M9 Gernsback'. Its basic specifications are similar, however, the Arbalest is also equipped with the 'Lambda Driver', which synchronizes the pilot's mind with the machine. When activated, Sousuke Sagara can not only convert his thoughts into physical attacks, but also enable the machine to perform movements that defy the laws of physics.
