Bandai Co., Ltd.'s GASHAPON capsule toy division is releasing a new product in the highly popular "Waiting Patiently" (まちぼうけ) toy series in the fifth week of this October, based on the manga series "Waiting Patiently: KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops Characters" (まちぼうけ こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所), created by Japanese manga artist Osamu Akimoto! The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with a total of five types to collect.
The super long-running manga series, KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops, created by Osamu Akimoto, stars Kankichi Ryotsu, a money-grubbing, rude, and incredibly resilient delinquent police officer. Ryotsu, who belongs to the Kameari Park Front Police Box under the Katsushika Police Station, has not only written the most letters of apology in the entire Japanese police force but is also perpetually ranked first in the "Men You Least Want to Marry" poll. Although a police officer named Maria deeply admires Ryotsu, Maria is a man. Wherever Ryotsu is, whether it's a small mishap or a major disaster, he's sure to be involved, which always leads Chief Ohara to yell at him:
"Ryo-san~ You big idiot~!!"
"Waiting Patiently: KochiKame Characters" features Kankichi Ryotsu, the wealthy Nakagawa Group scion Keiichi Nakagawa, the beautiful and talented blonde Reiko Akimoto from a good family background, Ryotsu's biggest nemesis Daijiro Ohara, and Hayato Honda, whose personality changes drastically when he rides a motorcycle. Not only does it fully capture the characteristic designs and police uniform details of each classic character in a 4 cm size, but Chief Ohara's expression is especially hilarious – a must-get!
