BANDAI CANDY, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest ninth installment of its popular candy toy product line, 'Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA'. The new product, "Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA 09," is scheduled for release in March 2026.
'Mobile Suit Gundam G-FRAME FA' offers articulated Gundam models that combine realistic proportions with detailed sculpting. By collecting both the "Articulated Frame Set" and "Armor Set," they can be assembled into a Gundam model approximately 10 cm tall. The FA version, evolved from its predecessor, improves the arms and rear of the thighs to a fully armored specification. It also eliminates the armor connection structure behind the knees, preventing the need for forced holes in the rear calf armor to avoid connection tabs. The chest armor is also less prone to detachment compared to previous versions, and the ease of assembly for the waist joint, even with repeated disassembly, has been enhanced.
This ninth installment will include three mobile suits: the "RX-105 Ξ Gundam" piloted by Hathaway Noa, the protagonist from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash; the "GFreD" piloted by Nyaan from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX; and the "Zaku I," a mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon before the outbreak of the One Year War in the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
1. Ξ Gundam
The massive Ξ Gundam this time requires three types of sets to complete: the "Articulated Frame Set," "Armor Set," and "Dedicated Optional Parts Set." Through the deployment mechanism of its shoulder armor and back wings, it can transform into the "Flight Form" seen in the theatrical film. Its armaments include a beam rifle and shield.
2. GFreD
Modified from the "GQuuuuuuX" armor and articulated frame parts of the previous installment, it features a unique purple and green color scheme and uses some new parts to recreate its distinct head, shoulders, and backpack. It comes with a beam rifle, beam saber, shield, and a pair of miniaturized funnels mounted in its head.
3. Zaku I
Using many new parts to recreate this predecessor to the Zaku II, it precisely reproduces its unique armor design and flexible articulated joints. It comes with a rich array of armaments including a Heat Hawk, machine gun, bazooka, shield, and landmine. The head parts can also be freely swapped to recreate both the standard antenna-less unit and the commander unit with an antenna.
