T-ARTS, a popular toy brand under Japan's TAKARA TOMY Company, is set to release its latest "Katanzun Fig." (肩ズンFig.) series today, October 27th. This new collection, titled "Katanzun Fig. DEATH NOTE" capsule toys, features characters from the acclaimed Japanese mystery manga "Death Note." Each capsule toy will retail for 400 JPY, with a total of four unique designs to collect.
"Death Note," created by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata, tells the story of Light Yagami, a brilliant high school student who stumbles upon a mysterious notebook. Anyone whose name is written in the Death Note will die, and Light can even manipulate their actions leading up to their demise. Driven by a desire to create a "world without crime," Light resolves to become the god of this new world.
The "Katanzun Fig. DEATH NOTE" capsule toy lineup includes protagonist Light Yagami, the enigmatic and world-renowned detective L, Ryuk the Shinigami who dropped the Death Note into the human world for amusement, and the incredibly popular idol Misa Amane, who is infatuated with Light (Kira). Standing approximately 5 cm tall, these figures reinterpret the manga's classic characters in a charming chibi style. Each figure meticulously captures the characters' essence and costume details. Even with his eyes closed, Light Yagami's confident smile suggests he's once again successfully orchestrated a perfect murder, his plan flawlessly executed.
