S.H.Figuarts, the action figure brand released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, has not only unveiled the "Zetton 60th Anniversary Edition" but also simultaneously announced another themed product for Ultraman's 60th anniversary: the "Baltan 60th Anniversary Edition" action figure. It will have a suggested retail price of 11,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in September 2026!
The Space Ninja Baltan first appeared in Episode 2, "Shoot the Invaders." Their home planet exploded due to nuclear testing, causing them to drift in space, leading Baltan to hope to migrate to Earth with their 2.03 billion compatriots. Baltan can fire red destructive beams (Swallow Bomb) from their hands to attack enemies and can fly at Mach 5. They were ultimately defeated by Ultraman's Spacium Ray.
This "Baltan 60th Anniversary Edition" stands approximately 16 cm tall and appears to reuse the prototype from the previous version, crafted with the cooperation of Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department. The sculpting meticulously recreates its slender physique and the texture of its skin-like suit. The paint application references night battle scenes, using darker colors and incorporating weathering effects with dust on its body, presenting the visual effect of its intense night battle upon its first appearance! Furthermore, like Zetton, the accessories include a PET card featuring the title "Shoot the Invaders," which can be displayed alongside the simultaneously revealed "S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou Ultraman 60th Anniversary Edition" to recreate their first battle scene!
