The S.H.Figuarts Shinkocchou Seihou series, an action figure brand released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, is launching a special product to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the popular "Ultraman" series—the "Ultraman 60th Anniversary Edition" action figure. It has a suggested retail price of 15,400 JPY and is scheduled for release in July 2026!
Making its return to the Shinkocchou Seihou series after five years, the original Ultraman's sculpt was also supervised by Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department, with Minoru Narita, who was responsible for the Shinkocchou Seihou Ultraman Tiga series, serving as the prototype sculptor. The main body stands approximately 15 cm tall, faithfully recreating his appearance from the show using the Shinkocchou Seihou technique, which sculpts outward from the muscles to the costume. The wrinkles and heavy texture of the leather suit are exquisitely reproduced, and it can be stably displayed with a dedicated base featuring the 60th-anniversary logo!
Replacement parts include six left and seven right interchangeable hands, a red Color Timer, and light-gathering effect parts that can reproduce the glowing eyes and Color Timer. By replacing the head and back with clear molded parts and shining light from behind, the glowing effect can be achieved! Additionally, this release also includes the Science Patrol's main fighter jet, "Jet V-TOL," which can be combined with the main figure's flight pose support parts to recreate scenes of flying alongside Ultraman!
As a 60th-anniversary edition, the effect parts included this time are incredibly abundant! In addition to the Specium Ray and Ultra Slash from the previous version, this release also includes a super array of effects such as Ultra Water Stream, Ultra Eye Beam, Ultra Air Catch, Ultra Penetration Ray, Ultra Attack Ray, Continuous Ray, Reflection Barrier, Ultra Willpower, and Catch Ring, which can be displayed with a dedicated stand to recreate various attack poses!
