BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Bandai Co., Ltd. in Japan, has announced the latest product from the "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE SB" series, which立体化s battleships from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series in SD proportions. The new item, "Sodom," from "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," is scheduled for release in May 2026.
The space battleship "Sodom," operated by the Zeon forces in Universal Century 0085 of the "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" timeline, was originally the Earth Federation Forces' first Pegasus-class assault landing ship, the "Pegasus," developed in 0079. However, during its final testing at the Side 7 colony in the same year, it was successfully captured by the Principality of Zeon's ace pilot, Char Aznable, along with the "RX-78-02 White Gundam." It was subsequently given a green paint scheme and a new name, "Sodom."
The "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE SB Sodom" is meticulously crafted with new molding to reproduce the rich details of the entire ship. From the precise panel lines on the exterior armor, the bridge supports and antennas, various turrets, to the massive engine structure and thruster nozzles at the rear, every part features high-density sculpting. Furthermore, metallic and various other color coatings are applied to express the characteristic green hues of the exterior armor, the yellow lights on the bridge, and the metallic texture of the internal structure and frame.
By detaching and replacing parts, you can display the main cannons, machine guns, Mega Particle Cannons, and catapult deck in their deployed states. The catapult deck's side armor can even be removed to reveal the intricately detailed internal structure with a gunmetal gray coating. Additionally, dedicated parts are included to recreate the "damper retraction mechanism" and "reverse thrust" during retreat, faithfully reproducing the animated scenes. Finally, the small shuttle used when Char and Sharian rendezvoused with the Sodom is also reproduced as a mini-model.
