Kaiju One - Android Kikaider Soft Vinyl Figure: Officially Licensed by Toei, Faithfully Recreating Every Detail!

Hong Kong's renowned soft vinyl toy manufacturer Kaiju One (壹工房) announced the launch of their officially licensed Toei "Android Kikaider" (電腦奇俠) soft vinyl figure, faithfully recreating its vibrant colors, design details, and internal structure. It is scheduled for an early release at the Amazing Toy Show 2025, held from December 12-14, 2025.

Android Kikaider, created by Shotaro Ishinomori, is a new tokusatsu work based on the "transforming hero" theme, developed after the immense success of Kamen Rider, showcasing an alternative possibility different from traditional heroes. In the story, Android Kikaider is the result of a project by Dr. Komyoji to defeat the evil organization "Dark." However, during its creation, it was attacked, preventing the complete activation of its "Conscience Circuit (Gemini)," which symbolizes its soul. This causes Kikaider to fall into confusion when hearing a specific frequency of flute sound, struggling between conscience and command. The prototype for this work comes from Disney's animated film Pinocchio, and the name of the Conscience Circuit, "Gemini," is taken from the cricket in the Disney version of Pinocchio who teaches Pinocchio to distinguish between good and evil.

Kikaider's design is based on a human anatomical model, with the asymmetrical blue and red on its left and right sides symbolizing justice and evil, and concretely representing an "incomplete conscience." Original creator and designer Shotaro Ishinomori once rated Kikaider as one of his top two most representative designs. Android Kikaider adopts a one-episode conclusion narrative format, depicting the protagonist fighting against monster robots dispatched by DARK, while continuing the original work's core theme of "machines also aspiring to become human." The antagonist Hakaider, who appeared in the later stages of the plot, further sparked discussion, making this work a classic in tokusatsu history in terms of design, worldview, and ethical conflicts.

This work is a tokusatsu series that successfully "expanded overseas" even earlier than Power Rangers, creating a huge sensation in Hawaii. In 2002, then-Governor Ben Cayetano signed a proclamation designating April 12th as "Generation Kikaida Day" to honor the cultural phenomenon's contribution and impact on Hawaii. To this day, a large number of fans in Hawaii still share their love for Kikaider on this day, reflecting on themes such as the opposition of good and evil, and the boundaries between humanity and machines, as explored in the series.

This Android Kikaider soft vinyl figure, launched by Kaiju One (壹工房), has received official authorization from Toei Tokusatsu and Animation International. It has been meticulously crafted by Kaiju One with years of accumulated sculpting experience. The figure adopts a 2-head-tall Q-version proportion, faithfully presenting Kikaider's classic "asymmetrical left and right" appearance, with a total height of approximately 20 cm. The figure uses a special high-transparency soft vinyl formula to recreate the iconic transparent outer shell and complex internal electronic brain structure; the eyes are rendered with metallic paint and transparent parts to convey a cold mechanical feel, and the exposed mechanical details on the left side of the body, symbolizing an "incomplete conscience," are precisely sculpted.

Kaiju One has poured immense sincerity into the details, material selection, and sculpting. This work not only recreates Kikaider's classic charm but also demonstrates the brand's deep affection for tokusatsu characters. It is an exquisite must-have for Kikaider fans; don't miss it!
