The character figure brand "Figuarts ZERO," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, is launching a new product based on the classic manga series : the "Cyborg 009: Underground Empire Yomi Arc " pre-painted figure. It will retail for 24,200 JPY and is scheduled for release in July 2026!
(サイボーグ009) is a manga series by "King of Manga" Shotaro Ishinomori, which began serialization in *Weekly Shonen King* in 1964 and later appeared in various other manga magazines. The story follows the adventures and daily lives of nine cyborg warriors with special abilities. This product brings to life the final battle scene between Joe Shimamura and his arch-nemesis Skull (スカール) from the classic "Underground Empire Yomi Arc" (地下帝国"ヨミ"編-), a chapter depicting the cyborgs' ultimate confrontation with the Black Ghost organization, which began serialization in *Weekly Shonen Magazine* in 1966!
The "Cyborg 009: Underground Empire Yomi Arc " stands approximately 33 cm tall. The prototype was sculpted by Takeshi Saito of Shonen Zeppet under the supervision of Ishimori Productions, perfectly recreating the manga's design and details! Behind the characters, three towering pillars feature three Black Ghost core bodies covered by transparent domes, with cables extending from the domes wrapped around the pillars, meticulously restoring the background details of the scene. Numerous transparent effect parts support 009 and Skull, depicting them mid-air and conveying an astonishing sense of speed!
