Japan's Bandai Namco Toys & Hobby Gashapon brand has announced a brand new product series themed around "Mobile Suit Gundam," the "Gashapon Senshi ZERO" series. The first release, "Mobile Suit Gundam Gashapon Senshi ZERO 01," is scheduled to launch in late March 2026.
The origin of this product traces back to the 1980s, before the Gashapon brand was even born, to the popular Japanese gashapon toy "SD Gundam World" (collectively known as "Gundam Keshi" along with subsequent revised Gashapon Senshi series). Unlike the more refined modern designs of the previous "Gashapon Senshi DASH" and "Gashapon Senshi f" series, "Gashapon Senshi ZERO" fully returns to the retro design of the 80s, creating Gundam mobile suits in a 2-head SD style, showcasing rich details within a mere 3 cm height.
The first release, "Mobile Suit Gundam Gashapon Senshi ZERO 01," features a total of 15 types to collect, including 3 colored versions, 6 red versions, and 6 blue versions. The three colored mobile suits are "Ξ Gundam," "GQuuuuuuX (Omega Psycommu System Activated)," and "Red Gundam." In addition to these three units, the red and blue monochrome versions also include mobile suits from the theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," such as "Strike Freedom Gundam Type II," "Infinite Justice Gundam Type II," and "Z'Gok."
