T-ARTS, a toy brand under Japan's TAKARA TOMY Company, has launched a new product with a "Transformers" theme – the "Transformers Miniature Package Collection 2" gashapon. The suggested retail price is 300 JPY per capsule, and it is expected to be released in mid-January 2026!
Many Transformers characters appearing in the G1 animation were originally toys from the Diaclone series developed by Japan's TAKARA Company (which had not yet merged with TOMY at the time). Hasbro introduced these toys, then commissioned Marvel Comics for concept development and repackaged them for release, creating a distinct worldview different from the original series.
This "Transformers Miniature Package Collection" series miniaturizes the classic Japanese Transformers toy packaging from the 80s. The production team thoroughly researched the original toy packaging, striving to highly reproduce the original style in the design. The internal toys are presented via printing, and the painted patterns and lettering on the outer packaging are meticulously recreated at a size of approximately 4.5 to 5.8 cm! Following the first wave which featured popular characters like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, this second wave includes six more styles: Rodimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, Metroplex, Starscream, Cyclonus, and Soundwave. Each comes with a ball chain, allowing toy enthusiasts to hang them on their backpacks and display their love for Transformers!
