Mattel Creations, the online sales platform of American toy company Mattel, which collaborates with fan creators to sell their works, will launch a new product in the "Origins" series—which reimagines the 80s Masters of the Universe toy line with new specifications—the "Blast-Attak" action figure. With a suggested retail price of US$22, it is expected to go on sale on the Mattel Creations official website starting at 09:00 AM PST on January 28, 2026!
Blast-Attak, also known as Program Robot Serial Number 1710, first appeared in the toy line released in 1987. He is set as a villain with hidden immense power, possessing the ability to self-destruct after a certain period. He strides into battle, exploding to take down enemies in his path, then reassembles himself and rushes into the next fight.
This new remastered version stands approximately 5.5 inches tall and has been redesigned based on the 1987 design, with added articulation at the elbows and ankles, allowing for more diverse dynamic poses. It also faithfully recreates the original toy's explosive design: simply insert the pump into his back and press to blast Blast-Attak directly into two halves! Furthermore, his classic weapon, the red halberd, is also included, allowing for various poses with the new articulation!
The packaging adopts the Origins series' design, paying homage to classic 80s toys. The back features an illustration depicting Blast-Attak bravely fighting on the battlefield, and also includes a mini-comic, similarly designed to pay tribute to the 80s, allowing toy collectors to quickly get acquainted with this interesting villain!
