TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product in its popular die-cast toy "Soul of Chogokin" series, "GX-120 King Exkaiser," from the anime Brave Exkaiser, scheduled for release in July 2026.
"Exkaiser," the leader of the Space Police Kaisers, was originally an ethereal energy lifeform. After coming to Earth to pursue space pirates, he merged with the protagonist Hoshikawa family's supercar, becoming a transforming combat robot. After Exkaiser summons the support machine "King Roader" from another dimension, he can combine with it to form the enhanced "King Exkaiser."
"Soul of Chogokin GX-120 King Exkaiser" faced nearly 5 years of development difficulties since its first reveal in 2021. The combination mechanism of King Exkaiser with the planned future release of Dragon Jet could not accommodate the range of joint articulation, necessitating a complete redesign, which is why it is only officially announced today. In the current design version, Exkaiser and King Roader can recreate the unique "FORM UP" combination method from the original work, and users can choose between the "FORM UP Frame" which restores the combination settings or the "Action Frame" which enhances articulation.
Before combination, "Exkaiser" can transform from car mode to robot mode without needing to swap parts, and its limbs feature flexible articulated joints. The car mode can connect with the King Roader, recreating the scene from the anime where Exkaiser pulls it from the front. The King Roader boasts a substantial size and cool design. When using the "FORM UP Frame" or "Action Frame," it will display different appearances due to differences in articulation, with the Action Frame being closer to the original anime design.
After transforming the King Roader and deploying its front armor sections, the Exkaiser main body can be embedded, recreating King Exkaiser. When combining with the "FORM UP Frame," Exkaiser does not need to be disassembled, restoring the original setting but with limited articulation in some parts. The "Action Frame," however, requires disassembling Exkaiser and storing its parts separately, with the entire upper body and hip joints enhanced in strength and range of motion by the die-cast frame.

King Exkaiser's head mechanism can change from a maskless appearance to one with a mask, and it also includes a "screaming expression" interchangeable part. The weapons include the signature "Kaiser Sword" for wielding, as well as parts for the Kaiser Sword in its stored state, allowing the calf-side armor to open and store it.
