The everyday-life bishojo plastic model kit series "Sousai Shojo Teien," a collaboration between Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya and illustrator Morikura En, has announced its latest product, "Rui Saotome [Momosakura High School - Tracksuit] Dreaming Style Midnight Onyx," slated for release in June 2026.
The new character, "Rui Saotome," is a prince-like girl with a glamorous appearance and demeanor who attracts both men and women. She is straightforward, consistent, and observant. She has excellent athletic abilities but dislikes studying and kissing scenes in movies. Rui appears boyish but also loves collecting small and cute things. After meeting the petite and adorable Ema Koishikawa, Rui was drawn to her pursuit of dreams and often goes to play with Ema, accompanied by her childhood friend and fated rival, Seira Ichijo.
The "Rui Saotome [Momosakura High School - Tracksuit] Dreaming Style Midnight Onyx" is a modification of the standard kit, with the costume parts recolored to monochromatic shades such as gray, black, and white. Her hair is an elegant milk tea color, and her skin tone uses a fairer "Color C," showcasing a cool, prince-like aura distinct from the standard version. Details like pockets and zippers on the tracksuit jacket parts are also pre-painted, allowing for a high level of completion even with a straight build.
The assembled Rui articulated figure stands approximately 16 cm tall and comes with her characteristic slightly wavy short hair parts, 7 pairs of PVC molded hands, and four pre-painted interchangeable face parts: "Smiling Face," "Fan Service Face," "Angry Face," and "Shy Face."
The base body combines an elegant physique with flexible articulation. It includes three skirt parts corresponding to different thigh bending states, an upper body part for leaning forward poses, and a lower body part for sitting poses. These can be combined with accessories like a school bag and mobile phone to recreate various everyday poses and more dynamic movements during sports. Naturally, the neck joint remains a common specification across the entire series, allowing for free interchangeability with other characters' bodies and costume changes.
Furthermore, for the heavy motorcycle riding setting, the product includes fully articulated lower body parts for Rui wearing riding pants, and a helmet head part that can be swapped with her expression parts, allowing for cool riding poses when combined with separately sold motorcycle models.
