The "MODEROID" series of plastic model kits, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, has announced its latest product from the classic robot anime "Madō King Granzort," the "King's Style Granzort Super King Gold Edition," slated for release in March 2026.
Granzort is one of the "Three Light Madō Kings" who commands lava and earth, summoned by the Madō Warrior Daichi Haruka using the Madō Gun. Its magic harnesses the power of fire and earth, wielding the "Earth God Sword," the Lava Emperor Sword, as its weapon. It possesses the strongest destructive power among all Madō Kings and is the only one capable of verbal communication.
The "King's Style Granzort Super King Gold Edition" is a modified version based on the standard kit. Compared to the "King Gold Edition," which featured some gold molded parts with full paint, some parts with matte electroplating, and black electroplating for wing details inside the head and shoulder armor, this version further upgrades all red molded parts with metallic coating, delivering a luxurious specification brimming with metallic luster.
The overall design and prototype production were handled by Mr. Jeon, a representative toy designer from Korea's GOD BRAVE STUDIO. It reinterprets the original Granzort design by incorporating numerous modern popular elements, resulting in a taller and more stylish head-to-body ratio. The previously flat armor designs now feature more three-dimensional layers, engraved grooves, sharpened lines, internal structures resembling heat sinks, and luxurious gold for the yellow sections, enhancing the imagery of fire's heat and royal majesty.
Once assembled, the kit allows for various poses thanks to articulated designs such as pull-out mechanisms in the shoulders and ankles, along with multiple interchangeable hand parts. It comes with the "Earth God Sword," the Lava Emperor Sword, which is longer than the main body, and flame magic power effects for the blade, recreating dynamic battle scenes. Furthermore, thanks to its articulated design, it can fully transform into "Face Mode" without needing to swap parts, and can be displayed in a floating state using the included "Magic Circle Stand."
