The incredibly popular "Katazun Fig." (肩ズンFig.) series, released by TAKARA TOMY's toy brand T-ARTS, is set to launch a highly commemorative and incredibly fun new capsule toy this February: the "Katazun Fig. Gacha Machine" (肩ズンFig.ガチャマシン)! Each capsule will retail for 300 JPY.
Known for its palm-sized figures depicting characters sleeping shoulder-to-shoulder, the "Katazun Fig." line features cute and comforting designs that make them perfect desk companions! Their defenseless, head-tilted sleeping poses offer a dose of positive energy to soothe your work fatigue.
The "Katazun Fig. Gacha Machine" miniaturizes and re-proportions TAKARA TOMY's actual gashapon machines into three-dimensional figures. Not only do they feature tiny arms and legs, but their overall design also incorporates the signature head-tilt pose characteristic of the Katazun Fig. series. In addition to white, pink, yellow, and green colorways, the display cards are also miniaturized reproductions of actual T-ARTS gashapon releases. Every detail, from the clear window and price display to the knob and capsule dispensing slot, has been faithfully recreated. Notably, one white machine variant features the old-style logo! Oh, we definitely want the whole set!
So, why do we say this gashapon machine capsule toy is highly commemorative? Because we are about to celebrate Japan's Gashapon Day (ガチャの日) on February 17, 2026! Its origins trace back to 1965, when Penny Shokai (ペニー商会, now Penny Co., Ltd.) was officially established in Japan on February 17, 1965. They began importing and distributing Penny King gashapon machines and used the slogan "Collect Toys from Around the World for 10 Yen!" (10円で世界の玩具を集めよう！) to market them.
