The HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. of Japan, which issues the Gunpla series with the most diverse range of mobile suits, "HG (High Grade)", has announced the latest product from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY", the "HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited (Heine Westenfluss's Custom Machine)", scheduled for release in July 2026.
The Gouf Ignited was originally a mobile suit developed concurrently with the "Zaku Warrior" as part of the Z.A.F.T. military's "New Millennium Series" mass-production machines. Although it lost out to the Zaku Warrior in the competition for the main mass-production unit due to its higher cost and difficulty in maintenance, its excellent performance was still recognized by high-ranking military officials. A small number of prototype units were initially produced and delivered to ace pilots, including "FAITH" members. In the series, Heine Westenfluss, a character voiced by the famous singer Takanori Nishikawa, was one such pilot, and the mobile suit's color scheme also adopted Takanori Nishikawa's preferred orange.
The "HG 1/144 Gouf Ignited (Heine Westenfluss's Custom Machine)" utilizes numerous new parts to recreate the sleek armor design of the entire body, including the distinctive curved spikes on the shoulder armor. The parts are molded in black, white, and two shades of orange to faithfully reproduce Heine's custom machine color scheme. The joints throughout the model adopt the "SEED Action System" widely used in products from the "SEED FREEDOM" movie series, allowing for an excellent range of motion through movable designs such as the sliding mechanism in the shoulder armor connection points.
For its weaponry, the hand parts faithfully reproduce the muzzle of the "M181SE Odin Arm-Mounted Beam Gun." The "MMI-55 Storm Beam Saber" recreates the telescopic mechanism for transforming from a physical sword to a beam saber, complete with beam effects, and also includes a dedicated hand part for holding the saber at a special angle. Furthermore, it comes with an "Anti-Beam Shield" and effect parts for the "MA-M757 Slash Wirer" in both extended and coiled forms.
