BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division in Japan is set to release its latest product, "HG 1/144 Charion's Rick Dom (GQ)", from the anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" on February 07, 2026. Ahead of its release, official new information including the product's box art design and actual model sample images have been unveiled.
In the "GQuuuuuuX" timeline, the Zeon military mobile suit "MS-09 Rick Dom" is, by design, a space-use specification modified from the ground-combat model "Dom." Designer Ikuto Yamashita has re-designed its appearance based on the original "Mobile Suit Gundam" design. While the overall silhouette remains similar, the limbs are more slender. The new back design is particularly astonishing, featuring not only large thrusters added to both sides of the waist but also a "third leg" directly installed, allowing it to transform into a high-mobility form capable of high-speed hovering movement.
The "HG 1/144 Charion's Rick Dom (GQ)" utilizes Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology, along with a rich array of molded color parts, to faithfully reproduce its substantial, heavy frame and the distinctive blue-toned paint scheme characteristic of Charion's custom unit. The numerous thruster nozzles located at the rear of the waist and on the soles of the feet are rendered in metallic silver molded plastic, featuring intricate metallic truss and piping structures. However, to replicate the red interior of the nozzles as seen in the official images, self-painting and touch-ups will be required.
The movable joints throughout the model largely reproduce Ikuto Yamashita's new design, allowing for dynamic battle poses seen in the series. Furthermore, the transformation mechanism to the "high-mobility form," which involves lowering the third leg on the back, can be replicated without needing to swap parts. Armaments include two "Heat Sabers" that can be stored behind the shoulders, a powerfully sized "Giant Bazooka," and the "Electromagnetic Grapple" weapon concealed in the wrist, which can be recreated in its deployed state using yellow single-core wire parts.
