Japanese brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY's "Nendoroid Doll" series, which features chibi-style figures with fabric clothing, recently announced a new product based on the popular anime "The Apothecary Diaries"—"Maomao." The suggested retail price is 9,000 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in October 2026!
"The Apothecary Diaries" is a light novel series written by Japanese novelist Natsu Hyuuga. In 2023, it was adapted into a TV anime by TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM. It tells the story of Maomao, a girl from the pleasure district who is skilled in deduction and knowledgeable in pharmacology. By chance, she is abducted and sold to the imperial harem as a low-ranking servant, where she gradually establishes her influence amidst the palace intrigues!
This Nendoroid Doll Maomao stands approximately 14 cm tall. The head sculpt reuses the design from the previous Nendoroid, while the outfit is tailored from fabric. At a three-head-tall proportion, it faithfully recreates Maomao's classic appearance from the series, meticulously reproducing the details of her green top and magenta long skirt. The soles of her shoes feature magnets, allowing for stable posing with the dedicated stand and multiple points of articulation throughout the body, recreating dynamic scenes from the show!
