Following the popular 'Waiting' (まちぼうけ) series from Japanese Bandai's GASHAPON capsule toy brand, which previously released the 'Mobile Suit Gundam in Waiting' first, second, and third installments from 'Mobile Suit Gundam', they are now releasing a highly anticipated new product: 'Mobile Suit Gundam Pilots in Waiting'. There are four types in total, with a reference price of 300 JPY per capsule, scheduled for release in May 2026.
The 'Mobile Suit Gundam Pilots in Waiting' gashapon reinterprets the characters in the series' consistent classic style, but this time depicting the pilot characters in a size of approximately 2.5 cm tall. The lineup includes: Earth Federation Forces (Amuro), Earth Federation Forces (Regular Soldier), Principality of Zeon (Char), and Principality of Zeon (Regular Soldier). These chibi-style figures faithfully reproduce the distinctive features of their pilot suits, showing them with their small hands on their knees, huddled up, and looking down in a patiently waiting posture—a somewhat aggrieved look. Placing them next to their mobile suits perfectly captures the scene of them awaiting deployment at any moment!
