Bandai's GASHAPON division, under its popular "Waiting" (まちぼうけ) series, is launching a new product featuring multiple characters from Japanese manga artist Go Nagai – the "Nagai Go Characters in Waiting" Gashapon. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with an anticipated release in late August 2026!
Influenced by Osamu Tezuka and Sanpei Shirato in his youth, Go Nagai resolved to become a manga artist. After working for several years with Shotaro Ishinomori's team, he began his own serialization, creating timeless classics such as "Devilman," "Mazinger Z," and "Getter Robo." With incredibly advanced robot designs and a unique aesthetic style, he shaped cherished memories for an entire generation of toy enthusiasts!
This "Nagai Go Characters in Waiting" Gashapon series adopts the line's signature chibi style, creating squatting and waiting poses for several popular characters from Go Nagai's works. It includes four types: Mazinger Z, Aphrodite A, Devilman, and Getter-1. Their squatting, knee-hugging, or hands-on-hips waiting postures offer a delightful contrast to their usual heroic appearances in their respective series. Measuring approximately 3.5 cm tall, these figures capture intricate character details, and when displayed together, they are incredibly adorable!
