BANDAI HOBBY, the plastic model brand by Japan’s BANDAI SPIRITS, is set to release its latest Gunpla from the animated film "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway’s Flash: Circe’s Witch," the "HG 1/144 Ξ Gundam", on April 25, 2026. Ahead of its release, official information including the box art and product images has been revealed.
The RX-105 Ξ Gundam is a fifth-generation mobile suit secretly commissioned from Anaheim Electronics by the anti-government organization "Mafty Navue Erin." Standing at an impressive 26 meters tall, the unit is specialized for atmospheric operations. It is equipped with an internal Minovsky Flight Unit, an improved version of the Minovsky Craft system as depicted in the theatrical film setting. It also features the new "Beam Barrier" technology throughout its body, reducing air resistance during flight and allowing it to break the sound barrier. In addition to its standard beam rifle, beam sabers, and shield, the Ξ Gundam is also equipped with high-firepower weapons such as "Funnel Missiles," Psycommu weapons that can be operated in the atmosphere, and "Mega Particle Cannons."
The "HG 1/144 Ξ Gundam" features completely new box art, with a visual inspired by the intense aerial battles of the Ξ Gundam depicted in the film. The kit is based on the standard version released in 2021 and has been updated with numerous new parts to recreate many of the new details seen in the second film. These include a beam rifle with a leg-supported stand function, a head part that recreates the exposed standard Gundam face after battle damage near the end of the film, and hand parts with deployed auxiliary manipulators in the palms. Furthermore, the battle-damaged shield, with its beam coating peeled away, is recreated through color separation and parts division. The beam impact marks on the shield surface and the scorched metallic texture underneath are also faithfully reproduced.
As with the standard version, the main body design is based on the latest artwork by mechanical designer Hajime Katoki. In addition to its impressive height of approximately 18 cm, the kit precisely recreates the molded details across the armor surfaces. Its highly articulated joint structure also allows for a wide range of dynamic combat poses. Movable mechanisms are built into the armor and wing sections throughout the body, allowing the unit to transform from MS mode into a flight form that significantly reduces air resistance.
