US toy manufacturer SUPER7's "ToHo ULTIMATES!" series of Toho kaiju action figures recently unveiled its seventh wave, featuring three new Godzilla-themed products: "Godzilla (1954)," "Godzilla (1974)," and "Mechagodzilla (1974)." This article will focus on the Godzilla (1954) figure, priced at US$95, with an estimated release in December 2026!

The origin of the Godzilla series, the 1954 film "Godzilla," directed by Ishiro Honda with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya and distributed by Toho Co., Ltd., was inspired by the previous year's Hollywood film "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms." It tells the story of the ancient kaiju Godzilla awakening due to hydrogen bomb testing and beginning its assault on Tokyo, Japan's capital, reflecting post-war Japan's complex feelings about atomic weapons.

This Godzilla (1954) figure stands approximately 20.3 cm (8 inches) tall, sculpted in the distinctive ToHo ULTIMATES! style to interpret the original Godzilla's design. The sculpt faithfully recreates the rough skin texture and the head sculpt details, including its ear-like structures. Articulation is featured in the mouth and multiple points across the body, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. Accessories include a pair of interchangeable hands, a neutral expression head sculpt, a classic train-biting head sculpt, and a heat ray-emitting head sculpt. Most excitingly, it also comes with a mini-figure of Dr. Serizawa, perfect for recreating the iconic underwater scene from the film's climax!

Additionally, SUPER7 is simultaneously releasing the Wave 07 "Godzilla (1954) / Godzilla (1974) / Mechagodzilla (1974) Super Pack" (priced at US$285). This limited-edition Super Pack will include an exclusive interchangeable head sculpt with a different eye direction. Don't miss out, collectors!
