SUPER7, a prominent US toy manufacturer, recently revealed the seventh wave of its "ToHo ULTIMATES!" collectible action figure series, featuring three new Godzilla-themed products: Godzilla (1954), Godzilla (1974), and Mechagodzilla (1974). This article focuses on the highly anticipated Mechagodzilla (1974), priced at $95 USD, with an estimated release date of December 2026.
Mechagodzilla made its terrifying debut in the 1974 film "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla" (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ), the 14th installment in the Godzilla series and a special film commemorating Godzilla's 20th anniversary. In the movie, the Simians (Third Planet Aliens), desperate to invade Earth from their dying planet, constructed the heavy mechanical weapon known as "Mechagodzilla" in Godzilla's image. The formidable machine was ultimately defeated by Godzilla, who teamed up with King Caesar.
This ToHo ULTIMATES! Mechagodzilla (1974) figure stands approximately 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall, meticulously sculpted to replicate the intricate details of the mechanical kaiju. Its cold, metallic exterior is faithfully recreated with a stunning silver paint application. The figure comes packed with accessories, including a pair of missile-firing interchangeable hands, swappable flying feet, and a dynamic head sculpt for aerial poses, allowing collectors to recreate its powerful flight sequences. Effect parts include a chest laser beam effect and an energy field effect, printed on acetate, to capture its iconic combat abilities. Additionally, a mini-figure of a Simian alien is included, perfect for recreating memorable scenes from the film!
For the ultimate collector, SUPER7 is also offering a limited-edition "Godzilla (1954) / Godzilla (1974) / Mechagodzilla (1974) Super Pack" for $285 USD. This exclusive pack includes an additional alternate head sculpt for Mechagodzilla, featuring its eyes emitting the rainbow-colored "Space Beam," providing even more display options and playability. Don't miss out on this special limited release!
