Sunrise's iconic Code Geass (コードギアス) series is hitting a massive milestone this year, celebrating its 20th anniversary! And if you were at the "Code Geass Project 'To 20th'" event last December, you already know they teased a brand-new crossover manga project with Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.
Well, today (July 10th), the official first chapter dropped! Titled Mobile Suit Gundam Wing x Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - Menuet Zero (新機動戦記ガンダムW × コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ メヌエット・ゼロ), the series is now officially running on Comic Newtype.

This epic crossover manga is illustrated by Tomofumi Ogasawara, known for his work on Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz - Glory of the Losers and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection. The story itself is penned by none other than Goro Taniguchi, the director of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion series. Talk about a dream team for a crossover!

The narrative picks up in the world of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Following the "Meteor Operation" and the ensuing conflicts, the Earth Sphere Alliance and the colonial armed organization "White Fang" plunged into an all-out war. Five young Gundam pilots rose up to stop the bloodshed, eventually bringing the war to an end. While humanity seemed on the brink of peace, true conflict never really vanished.
As the Earth Alliance continued its struggle against colonial forces, severely weakened, the long-silent Holy Britannian Empire began its rapid expansion. Britannia seized Japan, a nation boasting the world's largest reserves of Sakura Dite, and leveraged this immense resource advantage to even overpower Mobile Suit combat capabilities. The story is set after the death of Prince Clovis in the first season of Code Geass, and the first chapter even features the iconic scene of Suzaku Kururugi's arrest.

These are two incredibly popular franchises, and their first-ever crossover manga is bound to spark a ton of curiosity about how things will unfold! You can check it out now on Comic Newtype and KADOKAWA's "KadoComi" platforms. Don't miss it!
