British LEGO builder Jason Joiner has created a large-scale MOC inspired by the film World War Z. Titled World War Z Zombie Swarm, the build uses more than 3,500 zombie minifigures to recreate the film’s terrifying scene of thousands of zombies climbing over one another and forming a towering human wall. The entire display weighs about 65 kilograms and took nearly a year to complete. It was shown at Skærbæk Fan Weekend, a LEGO fan event held in Denmark in September 2026.

Released in 2013 and starring Brad Pitt, World War Z is best remembered for several standout moments, including the Jerusalem sequence in which zombies climb over one another to scale a towering wall. Their bodies pile up into a moving mountain of the undead. Jason Joiner brings that overwhelming swarm into the LEGO world, with zombies stacked on top of one another and clinging to other minifigures until the small LEGO figures become a massive, skin-crawling horde.

In the display photos, the zombies surge upward from the ground, forming a towering column of bodies. Look closely and you’ll see that each minifigure has a different climbing pose: some reach upward, while others cling tightly to the figures ahead of them. Together, the individually posed minifigures look like a horde continuously surging upward. Their densely interwoven heads and limbs make it easy to imagine the painstaking work involved in positioning and securing each figure.
