Good Smile Company's MECHA SMILE brand is bringing the adorable stop-motion sensation "PUI PUI Molcar" to its MODEROID model kit line! Following the releases of Potato and Abby, fans can now look forward to the "MODEROID PUI PUI Molcar Shiromo" model kit. This charming kit will retail for 1,800 JPY and is slated for a January 2022 release.
The original Japanese stop-motion TV anime "PUI PUI Molcar" (PUI PUI モルカー) was directed and written by Tomoki Misato. The series stars "Molcars" (モルカー), vehicles crafted from felted wool and designed to resemble guinea pigs. Each episode, lasting a mere 2 minutes and 40 seconds, centers on unique scenarios combining guinea pig and car characteristics. With their beady eyes, stubby limbs, tiny steps, and signature "PUI PUI" squeaks, the Molcars deliver stories packed with healing, friendship, adventure, and chaotic action!
The MODEROID PUI PUI Molcar Shiromo model kit perfectly captures the adorable, round form of the Molcar. Its vibrant, pre-colored parts faithfully recreate Shiromo's snowy white body, gray headlights and windows, and bright green wheels. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 70mm tall. It includes two sets of wheels: one for static display and another for rolling action. Fans can also customize Shiromo's expression with included tear and sweat stickers to depict the timid Molcar's iconic crying face. As a special bonus, the kit comes with an unpainted gray model of the bank robber who appeared in the anime's second episode, allowing collectors to recreate the memorable hostage scene!
