The popular model kit line "MODEROID" from Japan's MECHA SMILE brand is diving into the adorable world of the hit stop-motion animation "PUI PUI Molcar"! Following the previously announced Potato and Shiromo, fans can now look forward to the "MODEROID PUI PUI Molcar Abby" model kit! This charming kit is priced at 1,800 JPY and is slated for a January 2022 release.
The original Japanese stop-motion TV animation "PUI PUI Molcar" (PUI PUI モルカー) is directed and written by Tomoki Misato. This unique series features "Molcars" (モルカー), vehicles crafted from wool felt that are modeled after guinea pigs. Centered around various scenarios unique to these guinea pig-cars, the Molcars—with their beady black eyes, stubby limbs, shuffling steps, and signature "PUI PUI" squeaks—deliver heartwarming tales of healing, friendship, adventure, and chaotic action, all packed into each short 2-minute, 40-second episode.
The MODEROID PUI PUI Molcar Abby assembly kit perfectly captures the Molcar's signature round, cuddly form. Utilizing vibrant, pre-colored parts, Abby's distinctive white fur, blue windows, orange wheels, mountain-like head crest, and body emblem are faithfully recreated. Once assembled, the model stands approximately 70mm tall. It comes with two sets of wheels: one for static display and another for rolling action, allowing fans to enjoy Abby zipping around. Additionally, the kit includes an unpainted gray model of a literary-style male driver figure (different from the driver seen in episode 3), which requires painting. Sweat and tear expression stickers are also included, perfect for recreating iconic scenes from the show!
