Marvel Studios' "Black Widow" hit theaters on July 9, 2021, bringing the long-awaited solo adventure for Natasha Romanoff. While we've seen a fair share of collectibles from the film recently, most have focused on Black Widow herself or Taskmaster. Now, Brazilian statue manufacturer Iron Studios is bringing us a new addition to their 1/10 scale Battle Diorama Series (BDS) line: the Red Guardian! This impressive piece is slated for a Q3 2022 release, shipping between June and September.
The Red Guardian, whose real name is Alexei Alanovich Shostakov, is a Soviet-engineered super-soldier. He faked his death as part of a government program to become the second Red Guardian, serving as a symbolic Soviet superhero—essentially, the Soviet Union's answer to Captain America. In the film, portrayed by David Harbour, he steps back into action to protect his family.
Standing approximately 20 cm (7.8 inches) tall, this statue captures the Red Guardian in his iconic suit, posed dynamically as if ready for battle. Iron Studios has meticulously recreated the details of his helmet and form-fitting battle suit, including the realistic wrinkles caused by his pose and his signature bushy beard. His robust upper body is sculpted with impressive realism, and his roaring expression adds an intense layer of tension to the piece!
