Following the highly popular first wave featuring Potato, Shirokuma, and Abby, Good Smile Company's MODEROID model kit series is back with a second wave from the hit stop-motion animation "PUI PUI Molcar." This new lineup includes Choco and the MODEROID PUI PUI Molcar Armed Teddy, transforming these adorable guinea pig-cars into buildable kits! These releases are slated for February 2022.
"PUI PUI Molcar" (PUI PUI モルカー) is an original Japanese stop-motion animation series directed and written by Tomoki Misato. The show centers around "Molcars" (モルカー), vehicles crafted from wool felt and modeled after guinea pigs. Each short episode, lasting just 2 minutes and 40 seconds, explores unique scenarios involving these guinea pig-cars. With their black beady eyes, short limbs, tiny shuffling steps, and characteristic "PUI PUI" calls, the Molcars deliver stories rich in healing, friendship, adventure, and chaotic action.
The MODEROID PUI PUI Molcar Armed Teddy model kit measures approximately 70mm once assembled. It faithfully recreates Teddy's brown fur (though it doesn't quite capture his signature curly texture) and features vibrant parts for its orange-red windows and wheels. Beyond the standard display and rolling wheels, allowing fans to recreate the Molcars zipping around, the kit also includes Teddy's favorite carrot, weapons for fending off zombies, and spy goggles. Paired with sweat and tear expression stickers, you can perfectly recreate iconic scenes from the series!
