TAMA-KYU (たまきゅう), the capsule toy brand under Japan's Bushiroad Creative, is known for releasing some hilariously absurd gashapon. However, their new release for November, the "100-Yen Container" (100円コンテナ), actually looks quite practical!
Collectors who frequently travel to Japan have likely encountered this common scenario: you want to use up your loose change, but then you scramble at the register because you forgot to account for sales tax, ending up paying with a large bill and getting even more coins back. The "100-Yen Container" can effectively help you organize your 100-yen coins. After all, 100-yen coins are a frequently used denomination, whether you're on a gashapon spree, buying drinks, or grabbing snacks from street vendors. Pre-sorting your coins can help reduce the amount of loose change you carry, speeding up checkout times and giving you peace of mind. (A little voice in my head says: "I just use my card, who carries change anymore?")
This product is designed to neatly store 24 100-yen coins and comes in a rich variety of collectible colors, including Olive Green, Orange, Sand, Black, Gray, Navy Blue, Yellow, Red, and Blue – a total of 9 options. For many collectors, a potential use case might be, "Today, I can only spend the yen from two containers on capsule toys!" We hope the opportunity to use this 100-Yen Container capsule toy comes soon!
