SQUARE ENIX Japan today announced the latest character figure product, “A2 (YoRHa Type A No. 2),” from the popular ARPG NieR:Automata, scheduled for release on May 27, 2023. This product will be simultaneously launched in three versions: Standard Edition, Short Hair Version, and DX Edition, with varying accessories included in each version.
One of the three protagonists, A2 (YoRHa Type A No. 2), is the prototype combat android for the current YoRHa squadron. While lacking ranged attack capabilities, she specializes in close-quarters combat. Upon removing her combat restrictions, her entire body glows red, entering “Berserk Mode,” which significantly boosts her speed and attack power. Years ago, A2 participated in the “Pearl Harbor Descent Operation” alongside the Resistance leader, but ultimately became the sole survivor and an abandoned asset, never returning to the hated Bunker. Having recognized the truth early on, A2 has always been alone, living with a casual, aloof, and silent demeanor, yet she also possesses a gentle side, willing to sacrifice for others.
Similar to the previously released 2B, “A2 (YoRHa Type A No. 2)” is sculpted by Yoshizawa Mitsumasa. This non-articulated character figure stands approximately 28 cm tall, capturing her beautiful facial features, elegant physique, and her battle-damaged attire. The paintwork further enhances her facial makeup for a more three-dimensional look, the inorganic-like grooves on her fair skin, and the metallic texture of her various weapons.
The Standard Edition features A2 with her long hair, wearing her heat-dissipating tank top, and wielding the Type-40 Tactical Sword, reminiscent of her appearance when first encountered in the early story.
The Short Hair Version recreates her appearance with cropped hair after fulfilling someone's final request, bringing to life her short hair, body without the heat-dissipating tank top, and the formidable weapon “Virtuous Grief (Spear).”
The luxurious DX Edition includes all accessories from both aforementioned versions: long hair parts, short hair parts, body with heat-dissipating tank top, body without heat-dissipating tank top, Type-40 Tactical Sword, and Virtuous Grief (Spear). You can freely combine and swap parts to create your preferred A2 look.
