Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, announced today the latest limited-edition product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED": the "RG 1/144 Aile Strike Gundam & Skygrasper Launcher/Sword Pack Set [Clear Color]," scheduled to go on sale starting July 16, 2022.
This kit reuses the two regular release kits launched between 2011 and 2012. Both the Strike Gundam and Skygrasper main bodies utilize the ADVANCED MS JOINT frame structure, featuring intricate part separation and multi-color molding, bringing MG-level cool styling, precise mechanisms, and flexible articulation to the 1/144 scale. Both units can be equipped with the Aile, Launcher, and Sword Striker packs, reproducing the functions of each armament.
The difference from the regular versions is that these two kits are released as a bundled set, and all white, red, blue, yellow, and green parts have been replaced with clear color molding. Once completed, it not only presents a unique high-transparency luster but also reveals the internal ADVANCED MS JOINT frame structure. This also makes it more convenient for special customization techniques such as lighting and glow-in-the-dark paints, offering a distinct style compared to regular Gunpla.
