Following the 2021 release of the glow-in-the-dark version of "Jack", Japanese veteran toy company Kaiyodo's popular Revoltech (リボルテック) action figure series is set to release "Jack Skellington Ver.1.5" in October 2023! Let's take a look at what's new this time.
This Ver.1.5 "Jack" not only includes all previous head sculpts but also adds three new heads: "Scaring People," "Sighing Sadly," and "Happily Content"! In particular, the terrifying head sculpt, featuring exaggerated deformation and bared teeth, is incredibly dynamic! The overall sculpt and articulation are essentially the same as previous versions, standing approximately 18.5 cm tall, with 10 points of articulation, meticulously recreating Jack's slender physique, skull head, and pinstriped suit.
New parts also appear in the diorama section, such as a separately produced doghouse-shaped tomb for Jack's beloved dog, "Zero (ゼロ)". The gate base also incorporates some new elements and clever touches, including new color paintwork, transparent effect sheets printed with ghost patterns, and replaceable gatepost parts with clip functions, creating a more eerie and thrilling scene, though we really wish this Ver.1.5 was also glow-in-the-dark~
The fantastical stop-motion animated film "The Nightmare Before Christmas," created by visionary director Tim Burton, tells the story of a peculiar "Halloween Town" whose residents are all frightful in appearance, including zombies, werewolves, witches, and various other strange creatures. Their leader, "Jack," is an extremely slender skeleton who has grown tired of the unchanging annual celebrations. By chance, Jack discovers "Christmas Town," a place full of warmth, joy, and vibrant colors. Drawn in by this special atmosphere, Jack decides to emulate Christmas Town, but this action leads to a series of terrifying consequences...
