Japanese toy brand ELECTRIC TOYS's new soft vinyl toy brand "SOFVIPS" (ソフビップス), specializing in soft vinyl figures, will release soft vinyl figures of characters from CAPCOM's classic action game "Rockman"! The first wave of two characters will be the protagonist "Rockman" and the enemy from the original game, "Cutman"! Scheduled for release in November 2023!
Released by CAPCOM in December 1987 on the Nintendo Famicom, "Rockman" was the first title in the series. It adopted a non-linear, single-player progression, allowing players to freely choose stages, which was quite novel at the time. Initially, protagonist Rockman only had basic bullets, but by defeating enemy bosses, he could acquire their weapons. The game also introduced a weapon-weakness system, similar to rock-paper-scissors, where finding the corresponding weapons for each enemy was part of the fun. After its release, it was beloved by many players, selling 810,000 copies, and a sequel was released the following year in 1988, establishing it as one of the classic series ever since.

Cutman first appeared as one of the six bosses in the original Rockman, with the designation DRN.003, following Rockman and Roll. Originally a logging robot, he holds a brother-like status to Rockman (Rockman is rock, and in rock-paper-scissors, rock beats scissors). This SOFVIPS Cutman soft vinyl figure by Electric Toys stands approximately 17 cm tall, faithfully recreating Cutman's design in physical form. Its red and white color scheme, coupled with the distinctive scissors on his head and his large eyes, makes him instantly recognizable.
