Japanese company Prime 1 Studio's ultra-high-quality statue series, "Ultimate Premium Masterline," has announced its latest product from "Berserk": the "Demon Soldier DAKA" (鬼兵 ダーカ) 1/4 scale statue! The suggested retail price is 53,790 JPY, with an estimated release between August and November 2024.
The manga series "Berserk," created by the late Kentaro Miura, blends elements of fantasy, horror, and epic storytelling. Set in medieval Europe, it chronicles protagonist Guts' solitary and dark path of revenge. The work explores complex human nature, the stark contrasts of light and evil, and philosophical themes; its unexpected plot twists, accompanied by overwhelming hatred, pain, and despair, deeply captivate readers. The artistic illustrations have made this work a globally renowned classic. Following the passing of original author Kentaro Miura, his team of apprentices, "STUDIO Gaga," continued the artwork, with close friend Kouji Mori supervising the story, restarting the serialization of "Berserk."
The Prime 1 Studio "UPMBR Demon Soldier DAKA" 1/4 scale statue stands approximately 50 cm tall. Featuring the non-human soldiers created by the old sorcerer Darba, leader of the Kushan Empire's Monstrous Legion, the statue vividly captures the Demon Soldier's deformed humanoid appearance, recreating the eerie horns on its head and its disordered, protruding fangs. Its ferocious countenance, coupled with eyes gleaming with a dull, dark light and a gore-soaked feel, is truly repulsive! Multiple layers of red paint are applied to create blood-colored skin, meticulously detailing scars... The grimy yellow nails are also carefully sculpted, conveying a sense of realism.
