Today, the popular die-cast toy series 『METAL BUILD』, released by BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Toy Department TAMASHII NATIONS, announced the latest product from its new collaboration project with Gundam 00, 《Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle》: the 「Gundam Astraea II」. Full product details are set to be revealed on May 25th.
Also designed by Kanetake Ebikawa, the Gundam Astraea II is an original new mobile suit appearing in the 《Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Revealed Chronicle》 project. It is a test unit for the new "DOUBLE DIVRE" system, linking the GN Arms Type Exia and GN Arms Type Dynames. It boasts a unique asymmetrical design and is equipped with new armaments reminiscent of the "GN Buster Sword III".
In addition to the GN Condenser mounted where the original GN Drive would be on its back, its left shoulder also features a GN Condenser-equipped component, similar to those found on the 00 Gundam series mobile suits. It appears METAL BUILD aims to use this 「Gundam Astraea II」 to complete the technological development history of Celestial Being, bridging the gap between third-generation mobile suits like the Gundam Exia and the fourth-generation 00 Gundam, which officially adopted the Twin Drive System.
