Bandai's GASHAPON capsule toy brand has launched a new premium series, "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate." Following items like the "Coconut Crab," the series is now releasing its latest capsule toy: the "Japanese Tree Frog"! Scheduled for release in July 2023, it will feature four variations, with a reference price of 1,000 JPY per capsule.
The "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate (Ikimono Daizukan Advance)" boasts top-tier size, sculpting, and articulation, offering even more realistic details and exquisite paintwork compared to standard "Creature Encyclopedia" products. This release features the tiny weather forecaster that signals "it's going to rain" with its calls: the "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate Japanese Tree Frog." It comes in four color variations: green, green mottled, earthy brown, and blue. Modeled using CT scans, it meticulously recreates features such as its robust hind legs, distinctive body shape, and suction-cup toes. In addition to using transparent parts for some sections, it also features a realistic, moist-looking skin finish.
Measuring approximately 5 cm in total length, the figure features 16 points of articulation throughout its body. To replicate the state of the frog during croaking, a transparent "vocal sac" part is included, which can be attached to its mouth. Furthermore, a magnet is embedded in its abdomen, allowing it to be posed climbing on the included stone, or to adhere to other metal surfaces, showcasing its vertical climbing posture.
