LEGO IDEAS, a sub-theme of LEGO, recently announced the results of its third 2022 review, where two designs out of 35 submissions stood out. One is the "Jaws" set, designed by Jonny Campbell (Diving Faces), which old-school toy enthusiasts should be very excited about. The other is the "Cat", created by Damian Andres (The Yellow Brick)!

First, let's look at the "Jaws" creation by Jonny Campbell, a LEGO fan from Northern Ireland! Jonny used a total of 1860 pieces for this Jaws creation, building the boat and the massive shark to LEGO minifigure scale. From initial digital design to physical construction after purchasing the parts, he spent several weeks completing it, rewatching the "Jaws" movie multiple times and consulting extensive reference materials during the process.

It's clear that Jonny put a lot of effort into recreating the hull lines and equipment details of the shark-hunting boat "The Orca" from the film. He also mentioned that maintaining the integrity of the mast's shape while ensuring its sturdiness was a major challenge during construction. The current finished product is truly beautiful; in addition to its impressive size, the shark's mouth construction is also highly anticipated! There are a total of three minifigures: Chief Brody, Matt Hooper, and Quint.

Next is the cat model designed by Damian Andres. This creation uses a total of 1972 pieces, and once assembled, it stands approximately 30 cm tall and is 20 cm long, giving it a substantial presence. The entire set includes the cat's main body, a bowl of milk, and a fishbone. The author designed it based on his own cat, "Miro," stating that it's a Siamese and Birman mix. Damian spent several months creating this model, starting with the legs, then the body, and finally the head. He put a lot of effort into designing the expression of the eyes, and I personally think the rounded feel of the tail is also quite good – truly something to look forward to!
