Following the dream collaboration's first product, "Chogokin Liger Zero," Japan's two leading toy giants, BANDAI SPIRITS and TAKARA TOMY, today announced the latest product in the Chogokin "ZOIDS" series, the "Liger Zero Changing Armor Set," slated for release in January 2024.
Unlike typical Zoids equipped with an OS, the lion-type Zoid RZ-041 Liger Zero was developed based on a "complete wild body," featuring its most distinctive "CAS (Changing Armor System)" that allows for armor and weapon changes to suit different environments and tactical needs. In addition to the highly versatile gray-white "Zero Armor" already released in the Chogokin series, it also boasts the "Schneider" combat armor, "Jaeger" high-speed armor, and "Panzer" heavy armament armor.
The "Chogokin Liger Zero Changing Armor Set" simultaneously includes three sets of Liger Zero armaments—the "Schneider" combat armor, "Jaeger" high-speed armor, and "Panzer" heavy armament armor—along with a dedicated display stand. Each armament is crafted from ABS and PVC materials, featuring sharp, refined sculpting and intricate details. Portions of the internal frame within the armor are made of alloy, and the entire set is finished with metallic and matte coatings, adorned with numerous body markings, greatly enhancing its cool, heavy metallic texture. By combining it with the separately sold "Chogokin Liger Zero" or "Liger Zero Unarmored Body," you can swap out the armor to recreate all three specifications!
・"Schneider" Combat Armor
The orange "Schneider" armor faithfully recreates the powerful laser blades mounted on the head, back, and tail, as well as the retractable energy shield generator on the head. Each blade features a movable deployment mechanism, allowing for the recreation of attack poses where the blades are turned forward and all five energy shields are fully deployed, unleashing its signature move, "Five Blade Storm."
・"Jaeger" High-Speed Armor
The blue "Jaeger" armor recreates its rich array of armaments, including two large ion boosters on the back, a pair of multi-purpose blade antennas on the head, and eight blade-shaped object sensors across its body. The multi-purpose blade antennas, the side wings above the leg armor, and the blade-shaped object sensors on the rear legs all feature movable mechanisms. The side wings of the large ion boosters also have an interlocking mechanism that works with the opening and closing of the thrusters, allowing for the recreation of high-speed dashing poses thanks to the base body's wild and flexible articulation.
・"Panzer" Heavy Armament Armor
The military green "Panzer" thoroughly reproduces its heavy armor, which conceals missile launchers throughout its body, as well as a pair of impressively sized solid-shot and beam-hybrid cannons on its back. All internal missile launchers feature hatch deployment mechanisms. Furthermore, the hatches on the waist, back, and rear thigh sections have an interlocking mechanism where missiles are launched as the hatches open, allowing for the recreation of its super cool ultimate attack, "Burning Burst," with all cannons and missiles firing simultaneously!
