The renowned Japanese toy brand GOOD SMILE COMPANY's cute-styled articulated figure product series, "Nendoroid" (ねんどろいど), is set to release "Saichi Sugimoto", the protagonist from the popular anime and manga series 《Golden Kamuy》, scheduled for release in November 2023, priced at 6,600 JPY.
《Golden Kamuy》 (ゴールデンカムイ), created by Japanese manga artist Satoru Noda, began serialization in "Weekly Young Jump" in 2014, with the anime adaptation premiering in April 2018. The manga serialization concluded in June 2022, and the latest fourth season of the anime is currently airing. The story primarily follows the protagonist Saichi Sugimoto, nicknamed "Immortal Sugimoto," who, after retiring from the military, travels to Hokkaido to cure his friend's wife's illness. There, he forms a bond with the Ainu girl Asirpa and learns of rumors of a vast treasure of gold nuggets. The two embark on a journey together and later encounter a group including the escapee Yoshitake Shiraishi, initiating an unprecedented gold rush.
This Nendoroid Saichi Sugimoto faithfully recreates his appearance from the original work, presented in the unique cute Nendoroid style. Sugimoto's characteristic scars on his face, his long scarf around his neck, the rifle he holds, and his military uniform are all captured. His expressions include three interchangeable face plates: a smiling face, a battle-ready shouting face, and an open-mouthed eating face. In addition to the rifle that can be held with both hands, it naturally includes Asirpa's disliked "Osoma" (miso).
