One of Tokyo's iconic landmarks! BANDAI's GASHAPON division will release a miniature capsule toy featuring Japan's famous landmark, the "Tokyo Dome"! Scheduled for release in June 2023, each piece will be priced at 400 JPY.
Most people are likely familiar with the Tokyo Dome, this multi-purpose stadium. Officially opened in 1988, it has consistently served as the home stadium for the Yomiuri Giants professional baseball team, acting as their spiritual base. Besides hosting various baseball games for most of the time, it is also used for events such as concerts, professional wrestling, and martial arts competitions. A distinctive feature of the Tokyo Dome is its roof, which is supported by air pressure. To prevent drastic air movement, the main entrances are revolving doors. If you don't use a revolving door, you can experience the strong winds caused by the intense air pressure difference (lol).
▼The strong winds at Tokyo Dome, with speeds up to 20km/h.
This miniature capsule toy, modeled after the Tokyo Dome, scales it down to a mini size of approximately 4.3 cm in length and width at a 1/5000 ratio. The dome's roof is designed to be liftable, allowing you to see inside. There are three interior designs: baseball field, concert, and martial arts competition. The dome's outer shell also comes in two types: standard white and transparent, making for a total of six variations. Furthermore, multiple domes can be connected using linking parts, making for a truly adorable desk display!
