The popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts" from TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., recently announced the latest product from Tsuburaya Productions' special effects TV series Ultraman Blazar, "Ultraman Blazar," scheduled for release in November 2023.
The stage for Ultraman Blazar is an Earth frequently plagued by kaiju disasters. To defend against threats from within and outside Earth, humanity established the Global Free-defense Force (GFF) in 1966. Returning to the present day where nature is rapidly being destroyed, the protagonist, Gento Hiruma, who leads a special unit, merges with the giant of light, "Ultraman Blazar," from celestial body M421 during a crisis. After this event, Gento is appointed captain of the secret special unit "SKaRD," responsible for using new weapons to resolve kaiju disasters.
"Ultraman Blazar" is produced with the cooperation of Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department. With an articulated specification of approximately 15 cm in height, it thoroughly recreates the character's appearance from the show. It not only sculpts the silver-white body with sharp muscular lines and complex patterns distributed throughout, but also uses clear parts to reproduce the chest color timer, the eyes, and the surrounding blue flame design. Furthermore, metallic black, metallic red, and metallic blue paints are applied to depict the black lines across the body and the red and blue lines on the left half, resembling blood vessels.
The entire body utilizes the articulation joint manufacturing technology cultivated over many years by the S.H.Figuarts series. Specifically, joints such as the neck, hip joints, and feet have been further improved based on previous Ultraman series products, achieving a more flexible range of motion. This allows for recreating battle scenes from the show, complemented by accessories including five pairs of interchangeable hands, a red light color timer, and a dedicated weapon!
