Today, TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, announced the latest product from its robot-themed action figure line 'ROBOT魂': the 'Nightingale ~CHAR’s SPECIAL COLOR~', based on the novel 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children', slated for release in December 2023.
The MSN-04II Nightingale is the Mobile Suit piloted by Commander Char Aznable in the novel version of 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack - Beltorchika's Children', holding a status equivalent to the 'MSN-04 Sazabi' from the theatrical film. As its enhanced development unit, the Nightingale boasts a more massive physique, yet its mobility is far from sluggish. It is equipped with numerous high-thrust propulsion nozzles across its body and carries a total of 5 large fuel tanks, significantly boosting its maneuverability and cruising range. Its large shoulders are a miniaturized and lightweight adaptation from the MA 'α Azieru', housing 10 funnels. While seemingly disadvantaged in close combat, its skirt armor actually conceals auxiliary arms identical to those of 'THE O', allowing it to surprise opponents with beam sabers. Furthermore, it is armed with heavy-hitting beam weaponry such as a large Mega Beam Rifle, a belly-mounted Diffuse Mega Particle Cannon, and a Beam Tomahawk.
The 'ROBOT魂 Nightingale ~CHAR’s SPECIAL COLOR~' is based on the standard edition released in 2018, featuring a large size with a total height of approximately 165mm, a width of approximately 400mm, and a depth of approximately 310mm. Unlike the standard edition, the entire red exterior armor has been completely replaced with a brilliant metallic red, and the interiors of the numerous metallic nozzles throughout the body have been changed to metallic blue, conveying the sensation of jet propulsion. Moreover, the number of body markings, including gold lines, is four times that of the standard edition, and even the display stand features a new design.
Its excellent articulation allows for dynamic leg kicks, and the pull-out joints in the wrists enable more natural gun-wielding poses. The main unit also features various mechanisms to enhance playability, including a 'High-Speed Movement Mode' transformation gimmick, two sets of auxiliary arms concealed within the skirt armor that can deploy, and a 'Diffuse Mega Particle Cannon' firing port deployment mechanism hidden in the abdomen. It can be posed with weapons such as the Beam Tomahawk, Beam Sabers, Large Mega Beam Rifle, and Shield to recreate impressive battle scenes.
