The assembly model 'MODEROID' series, launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, today announced the latest product from the "Getter Robo" series, "Shin Getter Dragon", scheduled for release in April 2024.
This release of Shin Getter Dragon differs from previous versions like "Getter Robo Armageddon" and "Getter Robo Daikessen", adopting the same "DYNAMIC PLANNING Original Machine" setting as seen in "Super Robot Wars 30". It is the ultimate Getter Robo developed by Dr. Saotome, a distinct machine from Shin Dragon. While this unit does not possess the transformation and combination mechanisms of other Getters, it can utilize powerful Getter Rays to alter its body structure. When piloted by Ryoma, it can wield two Getter Tomahawks and fire Getter Beams. When piloted by Hayato, it can unleash the "Shin Liger Attack", reminiscent of Getter Liger, using arm drills and back thrusters. When piloted by Benkei, it can perform the "Shin Poseidon Attack", reminiscent of Getter Poseidon, utilizing Getter Cyclone and Steel Finger Net to execute the Great Avalanche Drop.
Although "MODEROID Shin Getter Dragon" is also a collaborative product with Sentinel, the prototype used differs from the previously announced RIOBOT version. It adopts a prototype design created by T-REX, continuing the MODEROID Shin Getter series style. This approximately 16 cm tall articulated model is constructed from multiple molded color parts, pre-painted parts, and stickers.
The weapon accessories include various interchangeable hand parts, Getter Tomahawks with two selectable handle lengths, drill arms and back thrusters to recreate the special move "Shin Liger Attack", and Getter Cyclone arms to recreate the special move "Shin Poseidon Attack". These, combined with the entire model's flexible articulation, allow for dynamic and cool battle scenes!
