Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE today announced the latest product in its Gundam series diorama model line, the 'Realistic Model Series G Structure', featuring the "GS07 MS Hangar" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury", slated for release in December 2023. This product will be simultaneously released in two versions: "Original Color" and "Weathering Painted".
This release features the impressive "Mobile Suit Hangar" from "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury", seen in scenes where Asticassia School of Technology students wager and engage in duels, witnessed by the Duel Committee and with both parties taking an oath. The Mobile Suits used by the duelists are rapidly transported to the dueling grounds along with their pilots via these hangars. The five-stage hatches unfold layer by layer, accompanied by close-up shots of the mobile suits, adding a greater sense of ritual to the duel scenes.
The "RMS G Structure GS07 MS Hangar" boasts a large size, approximately 23 cm tall, 20 cm wide, and 21 cm deep, capable of accommodating various Mobile Suits, such as the HG 1/144 scale Gundam Aerial and Dilanza. The front five-stage hatches feature independent movable mechanisms, allowing them to unfold layer by layer, just like in the series. The top cover is detachable. The anti-fall guardrails and the foot ejectors are also movable. The entire hangar can rotate on its base, and accessories include water-slide decals printed with various markings to enhance realism, largely recreating the cool launch scenes from the show!
The difference between the "Original Color" and "Weathering Painted" versions lies in their paintwork and price. The "Original Color" version, priced at just 8,580 JPY, presents the same plastic molded color as Gunpla, without additional painting. The more expensive "Weathering Painted" version, however, is fully painted and weathered, not only offering richer color saturation but also featuring effects like stains and shadows to make the model more three-dimensional, significantly enhancing its realism.
